Make A Wish

Happy Birthday

In celebration of my birthday one year,

I decided to knit this cashmere ruching throw.

Every night at sunset I would sit in my

adirondack chair, by candlelight and knit.

The rhythm of the movement became

meditative in emptying my mind

and opening my heart. And in the

sanctuary of silence I realized that

that was enough and more. I believe

this is called abundance.

After I blew out my birthday candle

the following year and knitted the last stitch,

I realized this had become the

tapestry of my life.

  1. Beautiful. what a talent and a treasure. I can picture you on your porch and the peacefulness of that place. I’m so glad that I was able to visit you there and can picture it clearly to this day.
