Change
“Change is to our lives as water is to our
bodies. Without it we dry up. It is the source.
Change wakes us up: change keeps us from
falling asleep during the best bits of our lives.”
– M.A. Radmacher
Why do we look forward to change at certain
times and yet have such resistance to it at other
times?
I learned a lot about resistance after having read
The War Of Art , by Steven Pressfield.
“Resistance, he says, “feeds on fear. But what are we afraid of?
Fear of failure. Fear of launching into the void. Fear that we
can become the person we sense in our hearts we truly are.
We fear that we actually possess the talent that our still,
small voice tells us. That we actually have the guts,
the perserverance, the capacity.”
There is a paperweight on my desk, a daily mantra,
it reads:
“Most things are difficult before they are easy.”
Change is one of those things.
I try to do one thing every day that scares me,
pushes me outside my comfort zone.
C H A N G E.
As long as I show up every day to do my part..
I know that God will be right on time.
“Most things are difficult until they are easy.” Perfect! What a reminder not to let the tyranny of the difficult stop us from attempting something new. Thank you, Robin!
This is very true. We always seem to see change as a bad thing and not something that can positively change us into better people. Such a perfect reminder to letting door always be open to something new! 🙂
I love the gift of your words and the beauty of the pictures in your blog! Change can certainly be intimidating at times, but how would we be able to continue to better our lives and the lives of those around us without it?
